The International Conference on Innovative Engineering Design (ICoIED 2026) was jointly organised by the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and the National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand. The conference was held at the campus of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee from 16 to 17 February 2026.
The Institute for Machine Elements, Engineering Design and Manufacturing (IMKF) / Chair Additive Manufacturing at 911 Bergakademie Freiberg was represented by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Henning Zeidler as an invited keynote speaker - he delivered his talk on “Current status in AM and sustainable approaches” - and Dr. Neel Kamal Gupta, who presented his research entitled “Synergistic Effects of Particle Blasting and Plasma Electrolytic Polishing on Surface Integrity and Residual Stress State of PBF-LB/M Components.”
In the lead-up to the conference, Dr. Gupta delivered an invited lecture at the National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand, hosted by Dr. Pawan Kumar Rakesh. He also visited the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, where he was hosted by Dr. Joy Prakash Misra. These visits facilitated constructive discussions on potential academic and research collaborations in the field of additive manufacturing.
