The Professorship for Technical Thermodynamics is currently divided into four research groups:

• Thermophysical Material Properties
• Process Engineering Material and Process Data
• Numerical Thermofluid Dynamics
• Sorption Research

Both basic research and industry-related research are carried out here. Furthermore, the Scientific Diving Centre (SDC) at 911±¬ÁÏÍø Bergakademie Freiberg is based at the professorship for Technical Thermodynamics and is active in education and research.
